About
A hobbyist workshop. I am a mechanical engineer by trade — fans, ductwork, sheet metal — and I 3D print and do CAD design for fun.
Why this exists
The goal is skill growth, not profit. Taking on commissions is a way to work on problems I would not otherwise meet. If a project would teach me something genuinely new, I may waive the design fee entirely — that is the point of the passion project form.
What I do
- 3D printing, in a range of materials.
- CAD design and modelling, from a sketch, a photo, or a broken part.
- Airflow and thermal studies, and structural studies, run offline and published as still images.
How the queue works
When I accept a commission you get a project number and a manual quote. The number is your project's only public identity — the queue shows numbers, never names.
List 1 is the priority queue, next at the top. List 2 means the hard part is done and I am waiting on you. List 3 is confirmed shipped. Numbers can move backwards: if you ask for changes, your project returns to the top of List 1.
What this is not
Not a registered business. This is an informal hobby arrangement, not a company.
No warranty, and no professional engineering service. I am not your engineer of record. Nothing here is certified design or professional engineering advice, and anything I model or print should be independently checked before you rely on it for anything that matters.
Quotes are manual. Nothing on this site calculates or commits to a price.
On the CFD and FEA images
Where you see a CFD or FEA result, it is a static image from an offline run — currently OpenFOAM with ParaView for CFD. It is not a live simulation, and a single run is not proof that a design is converged, validated, or safe. Treat those images as illustration of the work, not as engineering evidence.
Source files
CAD source files are not published. You will see renders, screenshots, and in some cases a 3D model you can rotate. If you need source files for a project you commissioned, ask.
